Naam Hindi Movie Review by Ajmal Ahmed (Public Way)

When the super hit film Naam starring Kumar Goruv and Sanjay Dutt was released in Indian cinemas, the public was eager to see it. It was a social, dramatic, action film depicting the world of crime, which was made based on the living conditions of two brothers. Naam, which is certainly a good film that highlights the economic and social aspects,

In which a family suffering from many problems due to economic poverty was also shown, how a young man named Vicky adopts the world of crime due to the breakdown of the system in his country and prefers to go out of the country, Ravi, who helps his brother while fulfilling his responsibilities, but time and circumstances make both of them compete with each other, the sufferings of this family consisting of a mother and two sons were actually the problems of many families which were highlighted in this film. The message of the film was for the rulers who failed to provide better employment for the people in this country and caused such incidents and The film was released in theaters on September 12, 1986, and was distributed by Aryan Films. This film starring Kumar Gaurav and Sanjay Dutt was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Rajendra Kumar, a famous actor of the past and Kumar Gaurav's father. He produced this film for Kumar Gaurav. Although Kumar Gaurav also participated in producing this film along with his father. Kumar Gaurav's first film Love Story was a huge success in 1981. After that, 9 of his films were released, but none of them could reach the level of Love Story. Rajendra Kumar needed to get Salim Khan to write a script for the film Naam, for which he approached him and shared his idea. Salim Khan was very busy these days, but realizing Rajendra Kumar's worries, he prepared the script for the film Naam, while on the other hand, Rajendra Kumar chose Mahesh Bhatt as the director and hinted at the start of the film. Mahesh Bhatt had previously directed two art films, Arth and Saaransh. While this was his first commercial film, in terms of the story, Kumar Gaurav was cast in the lead role to bring him forward, while Sanjay Dutt, whose first film Rookie in 1981 was a huge success, coincidentally, like Kumar Gaurav, he also had the same situation. 8 to 9 of his films were continuous flops, the main reason for which was that Sanjay Dutt, who had become addicted to drugs in those days and was losing his hero appeal with his handsome face, was immediately sent for rehab and upon his return, this film was named after him, in which both Sanjay Dutt and Kumar Gaurav were liked for their excellent performances. This film became a super hit. This film, with a budget of 2 crores, did a business of around 4 crores at the box office while collecting 74 crores from all over the world. Among the top grossing films of 1986, 4 films came out on top, with Naam at number four, while Karma was at number one. In terms of music, the film received a lot of acclaim. 6 songs were included in the film, the music of which was given by Laxmikant Pyare Lal. All the songs were heard all over the world. The singers included the voices of Muhammad Aziz, Pankaj Udhas, Lata Mangeshkar, Manhar Udhas, and Kavita, while the actors included Sanjay Dutt, Kumar Gaurav, Nautan, Poonam Dhillon, Amrita Singh, Paresh Rawal, Rakesh Roshan, Akash Khurana, Pranima Das, and many other important artists. The 80s were a decade in which Indian films had a lot of influence in Pakistan. Films that could not do well in India did well in Pakistan. While this film created a market in India, it also received a lot of recognition in Pakistan. The main reason for this was the similarity of the situations and events presented in the film to many people. At first, Rajendra Kumar wanted to give the role of Vicky to Kumar Gaurav, who was more powerful in his opinion, but with the mutual consent of Sanjay Dutt and Kumar Gaurav, the role remained the same. Salim Khan had suggested naming the film Rasta, but later its title was changed. Paresh Rawal appeared as a villain in the film, which was the first film of his career. Thus, he had appeared in four or six films, but before that, the world did not even know him. His successful journey as a villain began with this film and then he quickly took the journey that people dream of. Later, instead of villains, he started getting comedy, positive and serious roles, which proved to be profitable for him. A song sung by Pankaj Udhas in the film touched the hearts of people, the main reason for this was that this song was a reflection of those people from India and Pakistan whose loved ones were outside their homeland, this song also created a buzz in the film, Pankaj Udhas got a lot of appreciation from this film, Pankaj Udhas, who was a famous ghazal singer before that, was included in this film for the first time as an honorary member with his voice. Poonam Dhillon, who played the role of Seema Roy in the film, was very disappointed when she saw the premiere of the film, which she expressed to Mahesh Bhatt. She objected to her short role in the film, according to her, many of her scenes have been cut, to which Mahesh Bhatt avoided giving any answer. Nautan, who started his film career in 1950, released this film after his 1986 film Karma.

According to Rajendra Kumar, the role of Vicky and Ravi's mother will be played by the same woman and she will be Nautan. It seems that Nautan was taken in the film as per Rajendra Kumar's wish. And after all these incidents, this film was made, it was seen and liked all over the world, the name of the film can still be easily seen on YouTube or other social media platforms.
